I have an older HP Deskjet 3847 printer and a newer Dell 660S i5 processor. I am trying to get the printer to work and it appears to be functioning correctly, but it will not print. The driver(s) were installed automatically and I troubleshooted to see that the correct drivers were in use. It is currently saying that I have a document in queue (I tried to print a page, but nothing happened). It also said that the USB 2.0 device might not work with a USB 3.0 port. If this is the case, why is it acting like the printer is working properly. (except for the fact that nothing is printing) Does any kind soul have any input on this?

It's not uncommon for older printers not to function when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Clear the print queue, uninstall all drivers, disconnect the printer, reinstall the drivers (wait until the installer tells you to connect the printer), connect the printer to a USB 2.0 port (the black ones without "SS" or lightning bolts next to them).
