I have a Seagate 1TB external hard drive. Yesterday, I tried to turn it on, but it would just click and shut off. I had this problem in the past, so I tried plugging it into another outlet and it worked. But, when I plugged it back into my computer, most of the files are missing. When I clicked on properties, it shows that the drive is half full (meaning that the files are there somewhere, but just not showing). I went into file options and made sure the "show hidden files" was clicked. I still can't see or find most of the files on this drive. Any advice?

Test it with Seagate SeaTools for Windows. The clicking noise is not a good sign, I suspect it has developed a fault or it's read/write heads have crashed and jammed up against the data platters.
