Hi, so I have a 120 ssd partitioned to 100 gigs as my operating system. Riddle me this, can I purchase a 480 ssd and partition 100 gigs in raid 0 with the 120 ssd for the operating system and then partition 300 gigs as my documents folder? I realize that I would take a performance hit when accessing the my documents folder, but otherwise seems like it would work ok.

Thanks for any advice.

No. If you raid a 120 with a 480 the raid will pretty much see it as a 120 gb size disk and you will be unable to use the other 360 GB that is left. There are some other Raids that do allow you to use it but as far as most hardware and software raids for windows it doesn't.

Ok, so it looks at the drive and not the partition, thanks.

The real answer is that it depends on the raid controller.
This is possible with a good raid controller, just not with the lesser or motherbd ones (yet)
