Is there a possibility that dried thermal paste can cause black screen deaths?
The reason for this question is that I was facing this problem of random black screen of deaths.
I got my PSU replaced thinking it might be supplying wrong voltages. Then I started monitoring CPU temperatures and found it to run above 45C during normal loads.
I then replaced my stock cooler with Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo.
While replacing it I found that the paste has dried up completely. I reapplied the new one and have been monitoring temperatures since then.
Could dried up thermal compound be the reason for Black Screen of Deaths?
