ps3 won't show on my tv

I am having difficulty getting my ps3 to show on my samsung tv......I use the ps3 fine on another tv but have difficulty with the samsung. The tv works fine with normal channels and also watching dvd's using blueray player.

Any advice?

Using hdmi to get laptop to show up also seems to be the problem. I have used several hdmi cables but nothing works.

Take a look at the PS3 manual here:

To reset the video you can hold the power button for about 5 seconds or so while the PS3 is on. You should hear a double beep and the system will shut off. Now reboot.

Pay attention to the blocked text at the end of the web page.

If the video output settings do not match those required for the TV in use, the screen may go blank when the resolution is changed. The screen should, however, automatically go back to its original resolution after a while. If the screen remains blank for more than 30 seconds, turn off the system. Then touch the power button on the system front for at least five seconds to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.
