HAF 912 and z87 extreme4 compatibility?

"ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard has onboard USB 3.0 headers, but the Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports."

What does this mean?

Is there a better case choice out there for the Asrock z87 extreme4 within the same price range?

Yes there is a better case, and all that means is that the HAF 912, I have one, doesn't have front USB 3.0 headers.

Something like that. It just looks so amazing with the blue! I think those are all case mods though....

Those are case mods yes, and my PC, HAF 912, looks amazing in blue. 1 sec.

I don't know what it is about the HAF 912 i like so much!
Back to the original question, first of all will the HAF 912 work with the Asrock z87 extreme4?
So there will be no USB ports on the front of the case?

Yeah, it has 2 USB ports, but no USB 3.0 ports. So, it will work, but I don't think the ports will work, and if they do work, they wont be 3.0 which is a bit faster.

Why wouldn't they work? How many USB ports in the back? 4 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0?

EDIT: It says it has 9 x USB 3.0, 8 x USB 2.0... I am so confused

Yes, but the MoBo has a plugin on the board that allows cases to have USB 3.0 ports up front.

And the case doesn't have the 3.0 ports up front.

So i would only miss out on 2 USB 3.0s on the front?
I think i'll stick with the HAF 912 if that's the case.

I only see 2 USB 2.0 slots and 4 USB 3.0 slots in the back and 2 USB 2.0 slots in the front. Are all the others only available with expansions? I've never had to use expansions before so this is all new to me.

Well, the only USB ports on the HAF 912 are on the case up front and are 2.0.

The rest is on your board.

From there on if you need more I guess you could get a hub or PCi expansion yes.
