New Hard Drive / 4 Recovery DVDs+R

I have replaced the HPG72 Notebook PC Computer hard drive. I have 4 Recovery disks (DVDs+R). What are the steps to restore my old hard drive to the new one. In laymen's terms. I am old school. Thank you.

It brings up windows 7 with new drive and popup AutoPlay to open folder to view files? Is there something I need to do other than restart or shutdown?

Ok, I figured out how to boot from disk and Recovery Disk #1 loaded and now displays HP Contact HP Support_ The system recovery media does not support this computer. You are not able to restore this system with the media.

Does it make a difference that the window 7 was preloaded on old pc so I had to purchase another copy and presently using that one? I performed a chkdsk on new drive and created a backup on a separate portable drive of the new drive?

Can I find out what files my sister needs and copy them over manually?

Please advise. Thanks again.
