So I was reading that the 7870 Myst was better performance wise but a lot noisier and hotter. I am currently using the 7870 Myst and my temperatures usually idle at 32C-35C but randomly goes 45C-50C and is a bit noisy. The games I have installed currently are:
Skyrim
The Witcher 2
SW:TOR
RIFT
DC Universe Online
The Secret World

Planning to play on high-max settings:
Elder Scrolls Online
Wildstar
Titanfall?

These games have pushed my temps to 83C without the airconditioning in my room on and 79C-81C when its on.

7870 Myst

Do you think it would be wise to swap it to the ASUS Radeon R9 270X DirectCU II TOP 2GB?

Asus DCII R9 270X TOP

I am planning to play games on a VGA 1360x768 monitor because I am not used to using an HDMI one.
Current Specs:
Proc:FX-6300
Mobo: MSI 880GMS-E41
Ram: GSkillRipjaws 4gbx2

I have almost little to no knowledge in overclocking as well.

I'm a bit paranoid since this is my first time to assemble a gaming pc and the store offers to swap them for little price.

i dont think getting a 270x will make a difference. actually if im right your just getting the same card but with higher clock rates. actually your really good to go with your current gpu. your not even gaming at 1080p instead at 720p so i dont see why your card should be a prob, unless its artafacing, unecessary heating or causing you probs i suggest if you do want to buy save up and go 4 maxwell cards :)

Regarding the temperature, in the Philippines it is quite hot most of the year except during December-Early March. My 7870 myst spikes to 51C with just simple browsing, when gaming its 77C-83C (83C being the highest I have ever encountered not once.
