First of all, Hello
I'm Daniel and i've recently become a member at Tom's.
Here's my issue with my brand new card:
I start up a game, play for a variable amount of time (between 30sec and 30min) and then suddenly my screen goes blank, as in, it shows me a solid color or striped black and color screen. at this state i can hear my music playing and still talk to my friends over VoIP, but no other action i have tried has gotten me out of it, except restarting from the power button. I have tried multiple games on different settings such at World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Battlefield3&4, Diablo3 and Need for Speed Rivals. So far it occurs the most on World of Warcraft (practically always) and the least on BF4 (only once).
I searched around and i could only find things suggesting updating bios(mobo and GPU) and clean installing a new driver. after doing so i still am experiencing this.
I'm running Windows 7 x64. i haven't re installed my windows after getting a new mobo and Graphics card & for all i know this might be a problem with any part of my system, so if you even remotely think of something causing this issue just tell me.
Here are my GPU-Z and CPU-Z screenshots:

I would recommend a fresh install of windows whenever doing an upgrade.

This might seem like a hassle, but, it avoids a lot of driver conflicts, and speeds up your PC a bit.

it looks like you have Top version of 270X. There are some cards which are factory overclocked at the time you get them, here is a suggestion if you can try it out. Reduce your GPU Clock Speed to base clock speed that is 1050 MHz according to Asus website. Then check the results.

ok so i did do a fresh install of Win8.1 on my system and i cant believe i liked it after all the bad reviews i saw on the interwebs. anyways, after the install i still had the crash happen. only after that i saw something off in my cpu-z, my memory clock was on 1333Mhz which is below the actual module's spec (Corsair 2x2Gb - 1600). so i went to the bios and first changed the memory clock from "Auto" to "DDR3-1600" and set the timings through the preset for 4gb rams inside the bios. i'm pleased to say so far, so good. i'll keep you posted and thanks for the responses
UPDATE: Scratch that, i tested my old HD4870 with everything else the same and it ran smooth for 3hours straight. i put the new card back again and 3mins into the game i get another colorful stripy screen to look at. Right now, i'm thinking the card may be faulty. if anyone else thinks the same give me some assurance to use the warranty.

so hows it working with changing your RAM speed to 1600MHz?

i've run a game for ~2hours with my usb headset disconnected without problems. thinking if its conflicting with my card's sound adapters.
i'm gonna uninstall/disable my onboard sound adapter and give it a go

After uninstalling the AMD sound drivers in safe mode, ive had no issues in 2 hours of gaming. i'm gonna use furmark for stress testing.
UPDATE: i think furmark is kinda outdated, anything you would suggest?

just use that Furmark, it's still one of the best in stress testing your gpu.

ive ran the 15min burn in benchmark 3 times already, it crashed the first time but that might have been from the overclocking, the next 2 times i had it on the stock 1120/1400 it ran flawlessly
