Hello everyone

I'm asking this question because I've heard that windows seven actually affects the performance of amd's unlocked fx series processors is this true? And what does it affect in the CPU is it the single core performance or the overall performance. And does it have something to do w the modules? Or is it possible that windows 8 brings down my system.

I'm running a FX 6300 Vishera w ASUS M5a 97 R2.0 mobo.

My OS is Windows 7 ultimate sp1 64 bit.

BTW I have both OS s Windows 7 and windows 8.1 both 64 bit. I just prefer windows 7 as it is easier for me but I don't mind switching to the 8.1 if it increases the performance of the 6300 CPU. And my main focus is gaming.

There is not enough of an upgrade to justify it, I would stick with 7 if you prefer it.

I agree the increase isn't worth it, I honestly much prefer windows 7 as well, and you can just grab a hyper 212 evo to overclock the fx 6300, it's good for the price :)

It's fast enough as is, really. Overclocking is useful, but it's in no way lacking.
