Hello,

I have an issue with my computer and xbox at home, they disconnect from the internet everytime the landline rings.
I am a technician but can't figure out a solution.

I have the router downstairs plugged into the master socket and i run a powerline adapter in my room to a 4 port ethernet switch which then connects to my xbox and computer through ethernet.

i have tried changing the router channel, i have tried different adsl filters etc but nothing seems to work.
i wouldnt have thought it would be to do with the powerline adapters as these have been used for ages before this started to happen.
any ideas?

It may be the case that if you have a wireless phone set up, a main sender and dock plus a few extra hand sets it is in some way interfering with the router.

If the primary radio or wireless sender is in close proximity as the router.
Both the router and the phone wireless work on about 2.4ghz.
Along with some power line adapters that use the wireless to feed it through the ring main to the next power line device to wireless. Or the access point.

If any of it has been moved or is closer to each other, the only thing I can thank that may of changed then there will need to be a larger spacing or gap between them to avoid cross over or wi-fi signal wise.

Of course you have to also thing about how crowded a wi-fi channel is with your neighbors also using wi-fi

And there for after a time you may have to change the wi-fi channel broadcast number in the router to resolve the problem.

You should be able to change the radio wi-fi sending channel, and recive. and if the router is new change the frequency it is broadcast at.

This will depend on the devices in your laptops and computers, phones or tablets.

N-150 can be 2.4gz and N-300 5.0ghz for wireless transmission.
