Hi,
Sorry about the extra word in the title, I just had to have 3 words in it. Anyways, I want to overclock my CPU (AMD 6300 @3.5 GHz with stock cooler). Since I have the stock cooler how much should i overclock? Also, should I just boost right up there or should I slowly go up and up until I reach it? Thanks in advance!!!!

small steps always and check for stability normal temperatures on each increase. there's no telling where you will have to stop but i suspect you'll get to around 4ghz.

if you experience any instability (restarts/blue screen/artifacts) it's the cue that you need to dial back to the previous stable one. also, if you get to ~75C on prime95 it's also time to step back

So I got up to 3.9 GHz and then I got BSOD, I toned it down to 3.88 and Windows actually booted but then just decided to restart. No BSOD. Nothing. Just restarted. I just turned it back on ad now everything seems like it's running fine but I am a little worried because my Wifi Adapter won't work until I unplug/replug it in. I will update this once I do some stress tests.

UPDATE: I did stress test on Prime95 and it got to core number 2 and it failed. I reverted back to 3.85 I will update once I do stress test. as for the Wifi adapter deal. Still failing.

UPDATE #2: Everything is working and functional at 3.85 GHz. To be honest I was only expecting a little boost. It likes to run at 4 GHz most of the time according to the task manager performance tab. The wifi adapter needed a new driver. That is fixed.

My motherboard if you are wondering is an MSI 760 GM P-34 FX
