I don't have any motherboard lights but i get a green light on my graphics card, and i double checked and made sure the power button is hooked up right.

Well my graphics card led lights up when i have it connected and when my power supply turned on, i don't know if that means my motherboard works or not.

Yes, they are all documented in my troubleshooting checklist. I don't have a silver bullet for you if that's what you're asking. Figuring out what's causing a problem like this takes a systemic troubleshooting approach. That's why I recommended following the steps in the checklist. If you have really performed EVERY step in the checklist then you're possibly dealing with a faulty component. Breadboarding is a very effective way to test a system. If you're not willing to do that then I don't really have any further suggestions. Faulty components do happen from time to time, but this type of issue is generally just a setup error which the checklist is designed to help find.

I tried it again and when i touched the two spot to manually start it up with a screwdriver it turned on,so i held it in there and got into bios and then decided to put it together in the case. But now that it's in the case the power switch STILL won't work and when i touch the spot with a screwdriver it lights up for half a second and turns off anyone know what to do?

Sounds like you've solved your own problem, there seems to be a problem with your on/off button.
Try a different case? or if it's a new case send it back to wherever you bought it from and get a replacement

I made sure that the back of my motherboard isn't touching the case and i made sure that any parts on the rear IO shield are not touching my motherboard.

You're 100% positive that there is a standoff that lines up with every mounting hole in the motherboard and there are no extra standoffs that don't line up with a mounting hole? I think it's pretty obvious that there is a short somewhere since the system worked just fine when breadboarded. You also seem to have an issue with the power switch on your case if you can only get the system to start by shorting the pins on the motherboard.
