So I am upgrading my gaming rig right now and I am reusing my PSU, the problem is the PSU is from about 7-9 years old. It is a Rosewill and the problem is I have a 24 pin for the motherboard but I do not have a 8 pin also for the motherboard, I have a 4 pin should I invest $4 and get an adaptor or get a new PSU for ~~$40

I think you should buy a new PSU rather than a adaptor.
it will be much safe for your new upgrade.

Probably a new PSU, as PSUs degrade over time, but you want to get a quality one, don't cheap out on it. What kind of CPU and graphics card do you have?

I would go with something like this: http://us.ncix.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&s...

That will last a very long time, and be plenty of power you need.

I second HiTech's choice of psu, I have the 750w version of that one, built by seasonic really solid. Plus it will give you all the new cables you need to connect your rig without any adapters.
