Hey all, I recently built my first computer and everything seemed to be going smoothly until I ran into this problem where after I shutdown my computer, the case fans and cpu fan would continue going indefinitely, as well as the LED on the power button staying on. I've tried making sure all the connections to the mobo were secure and everything like that, and seeing if my bios had an option where something was left on, but I couldn't find anything. I'll list my parts below and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Intel Core i7-4770K
Noctua NH-D14
Asus Z87-PRO Mobo
Vengeance LP 16GB
Crucial M500 240gb SSD
Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB
Design Define XL R2 Case
Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Thanks for the response. When I go under my device manager, I do not see that option as they describe on the ASUS site. I'm not sure if there's an alternative name or something.

Thanks for the response. I'm turning it off from the Windows menu shutdown button. My monitor turns off as if the system is shut down, but the fans and light continue to operate.

have you tried to List all hidden devices in Device Manager?
Go to View in Device Manager and make sure Show Hidden Devices option is checked.

I just fixed my gigabyte rig that was doing this. I had updated to the latest beta bios while troubleshooting a reboot problem, I went back to the latest official bios and no more issues, it even properly shut it all down for a second before a warm restart. I tested it and it now all shuts down properly so at least in my case this wasn't a windows problem but a bios issue. I'm seeing a LOT of posts about this and there seems to be a variety of stated solutions some to do with power management selections in device manager. I've also read it might be caused by a malware. I just read everything I can find and pay especial attention to those posts about my board or at least the maker of my board and just cross my fingers.

Thanks everyone for the responses! I went down the line of troubleshooting and it didn't seem to be the Bios, nor anything under device manager, but my power supply. I switched to a seasonic and it seems to have fixed the problem and it shuts down properly now. I was praying it wouldn't be the motherboard so I wouldn't have to disassemble everything.

Thanks again guys.

I read a post someone suggested unplugging the power supply overnight to drain the last of the juice off the caps in the ps and the motherboard and that worked for them for whatever reason. Who knows just glad it is fixed, kind of annoying.
