Hi all

I would like to make my desktop water cooled and have in the past months searched and found what I wanted :)

The only thing I haven't found out yet is the total amount of liquid I would need for my setup.

It is as following:

500 mL Reservoir
250 - 300 mL Tube (approx)
2 NexXxos ST30 Full Copper 360 radiators
EK - Supremacy - Full Copper CPU Block
Aqua Computer GTX 770 Lightning Block
Swiftech MCP35X pump

I know the CPU and GPU block and pump wont have a very large volume, but the two 360 radiators might :p

I thought 2 L would be enough, but am not totally sure :)

thanks in advance

Solution
I would get at least 3L. Keep in mind you may make mistakes and have to pour some water out. Also you need to rinse out your rads before you use them.

I had wanted to use distilled water from the beginning :p My problem is that in my country the largest volume of distilled water you can buy is 1 L at 8$ which makes it matter if I should buy 2 L or 3-4 L as there is in a gallon

You will also want some sort of anti-microbial in the water as distilled can still harbor growth. There are many watercooling additives for this (please be careful in selection as some water blocks will have their warranty voided if used with some additives). Also, you can buy some solutions at your local pet store or large retailer that might carry fish tank supplies. You want something that prevents mold, bacteria and fungal growths.

It will take the better part of 2/3rds of a gallon to fill that loop.

Contrary to what others believe is necessary, I use 100% pure steam distilled water with No additives or kill coil and if needed, I flush my reservoir and system with fresh steam distilled water about every 3 months, usually a siphon an refill of the reservoir about 3 times running the computer between siphons completely exchanges and refreshes the water.

If your computer is not in direct sunlight you can go much longer between a siphon and refill, as direct sunlight promotes algae growth, I am presently at 5 months since my last siphon, and the water is still crystal clear.

I've been running like this now for well over a year, and the water in my reservoirs, is crystal clear.
