Overheating issues (I think).

Alright, so I've had this PC starting on close to Six years. The only part I've ever upgraded was the GPU.

Anyway, this sturdy beast has been chugging along this whole time with not many issues, but within the last 6 months or so I've noticed the things are just running slower... which I know just "happens" as things get older, but this is like especially bad. I didn't really start to take notice until games that used to run fine suddenly started running like trash.

So, this is happening and it's upsetting but I get by... and then my PC just starts shutting down randomly. Now I recognize this as a heating problem so I check my Hardware Monitor and yeah, my CPU is around 200º F.

In fact here's how it's running right now:

So, I'm thinking maybe just buying a new CPU fan (Hyper EVO?), hoping that fixes a little bit of the problem until I can afford a better PC. The main reason I'm typing all this is to ask what the community thinks I should do? You know other than "get a new PC" because that's already on the list.

Would it be pointless to just buy a new CPU fan? Any other suggestions?

i got a free gateway computer also with the core 2 quad and an upgraded gpu (to radeon hd4890). it wasnt that hot but the cpu was hitting 70s and the gpu was getting to upper 90s. i replaced the thermal paste on both (it was all dried and caked), took out things that would block airflow, and fixed some cable management and both dropped 10 degrees. i also switched cases with alot better airflow and now on max load the gpu hits high 60s low 70s and the cpu is in mid 60s.
