Corsair H80i disconnecting/reconnecting randomly

I have a Corsair H80i closed loop cooler in my system that I believe is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. I hear the disconnect sound followed immediately by the reconnect sound quite often on my computer.

I assume it is the cooler since I have removed all other USB ports from my system and still hear the sound but I don't hear it if I open Corsair Link. Any one know of a solution?

Disconnect the H80i usb cable(leave the fans and power) to see if the disconnect/reconnect sound stops.

The h80i will still function properly without the usb connection. Custom colors and even fan control are saved to the unit it self.

If it goes away, maybe try another usb cable since the plug is standard OR contact corsair to see if they have a firmware update or other solution.

I honestly do not have my H80i usb connected any more. Just did it for initial settings.

After going on the Corsair site and digging through the forums I found that Corsair Link isn't fully compatible with Windows 8.1 which I have and gives false readings on Haswell processors so I just removed the connection as you suggested. No more disconnect/reconnect sounds.
