Which one is better in gaming? MSI N630GT-MD4GD3 GeForce GT 630 4GB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 or Galaxy NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 GC 1GB GDDR3 PCI Express 3.0?
Please note that both will be run on a mobo that supports PCI-E 16x 1.1
BTW, The GT 640 1GB is slightly cheaper. My max resolution is 1280x1024

Solution
Lol I currently using the Gigabyte GT 640 DDR3 2GB OC version. it preforms well for me on everything I have
thrown at it - mind you I have a i7 processor with PCI Express x8 (don't know what version)

Daiblo 3, Sim City, NFS, Crysis, Mass Effect 3, Assassins Creed Black Flag etc all work fine for me on 1920 res

What Resolution are you planning to use?

More ram on a GFX is best for 1920+ HD Resolution and high detail as this extra ram is used to texture rendering (Tripple buffering etc)

See http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ for card benchmarks

The GT 640 is a faster card
The GT 630 Will provide Better Quality only at High Resolution and high Settings - but at a lower FPS)

The GT 640 card is much faster and better suited for your display even if only 1Gig you wont regret a faster card
If you can get a GTX or TI even an OC version of the GT 640 or a GT650 even better (as these are Game enhanced versions)

I can afford the Gigabyte GT 640 DDR3 2GB OC version.
I will run this card on PCI-E 16X version 1.1. Will it slow down the card dramatically?
BTW, My PC specs are C2D E4600 2.4GHZ with 2GB 667MHZ RAM. Will it be able to run GTA IV on medium settings smoothly after installing this card?

Thanks Mark for you reply.
Can my stock PSU (280W) handle this card?
