Possibly failing monitor

My monitor has been acting strange lately. Sometimes when the page is loading, there are these little white squares that cover the half of the page and also when my computer comes back from being idle, it has alot of the screen blacked out. I'm hoping this is the monitor and not my graphics card. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's not a monitor issue. Most likely, that's a software issue.

What are the specs of your computer, and what graphics drivers are you using?

I connected it to my son's computer and its doing the same thing. This just started about 2 weeks ago, I've had this computer for over a year but the monitor is old. Thank you so much, you were right. It was a corrupted theme I was using with google chrome.
