I game mainly game on pc but all my previous headsets have had problems.
These are the headsets and the problems I have had
Astro A40's: Mic is really bad
Turtle Beach Spectre: Sounds bleeds horribly
G930: The battery started to spazz out
Gamecon 780: The volume was really messed up(had to keep stuff at about 10 on the volume mixer in windows)
Those are what I remember the others mainly broke by physical stand points.
I dunno what to do about this it seems like every headset seems to fail me :(
Also the price range is around $200-$300

Get a headphone and a desktop mic for great quality mic but if you want to use it like gaming headsets with mic on it get modmic 4.0 which should be releasing soon. I have the ATH M50 and will never look back on headsets again. I also have the modmic 3.0 and its sound quality is outstanding. It even beats the Blue Snowball in my opinion.

For that price i'd recommend these headphones:

Sennheiser HD 598

AKG Q701:

V-Moda Crossfade LP

Audio Technica ATH AD900X

If you would spend the mic on its own not on that budget:

V-Moda Crossfade M100

But if you really want a "headset" go with the upcoming Audio Technica Gaming Series. They make outstanding headphones and mic
