Need help, computer turns on, no display, fans run at max speed

Ok, so I was doing my daily routine, scrolling through the internet and playing games and what not, when suddenly my mouse randomly turns off. So I unplugged it, plugged it back in, nothing. I tried different USB ports and nothing. I decided to restart my PC, where all the trouble arises.

When it restarts, I get an error message "USB Device Over Current Status Detected". I thought that might had been the problem with my USB ports acting up. So I looked into it, and I tried all the solutions except one, which was unplugging my front panel USB cable from the motherboard and restart it. Once I did that, the PC started up, fans at max speed, and no display.

I know my way around a PC fairly well now and I am stumped. Any help will be appreciated!

  1. Hi Collin, I'm not an expert but it sounds a bit like my problem to a degree, so not exact but it sound like too much power is your issue here but its only a hunch. either way I hope you sort it. :)
  2. Did you try reinstalling the USB ports through device manager? Are there any errors messages in device manager?
