What to look for when buying a new case?

I know it needs to be ATX, but other than that, im kind of lost at what to look for when buying a new case.

I suspect ventilation is an issue.

What makes a $200 case better than a $40 case?

Your case protects the components and provides cooling. It is also a style issue.
1 Does it have enough room for your system?
2 Does it allow your choice of CPU cooler?
3 Does it have enough HDD and Optical drive slots?
4 Does it look good?
5 Does it have enough fans?
