So in my office, I have an IBM Thinkpad that is on a docking station. The docking station has two DVI ports that come off of it and that works fine where the dual screens display the way the should.

Ok, now here is where it gets tricky. I have a 3rd monitor that faces the visitor chairs in my office and sometimes I want to display the 2nd screen to them without having to turn the monitors so I added a DVI splitter off the docking station and plugged in both monitors. Now when Do this the monitors blink/flicker.

When I unhook one of the monitors from the splitter with the splitter still connected to the docking station, it still flickers.

Any ideas or cost effective ways I Can get the 3rd DVI monitor connected to my docking station to display?

Make sure both of the monitors on your splitter are running an acceptable refresh rate. When you plug in 2 monitors to one port the computer cant read the second, so it has no idea what the resolution or refresh rate should be. I would unplug the extra monitor set the monitor still on splitter to run at a resolution you know will work, like 1280x1024 and set the refresh rate to 59hz. Then plug in the extra monitor to the splitter. If that works, then all you have to do is find the best resolution and refresh rate that keeps them both happy.
