So i just put together a new rig.

i5-4670k cpu
msi z87-g45 MB
evo 212 cooler
16gig 1600mhz ram
cx600 psu
and sadly a poop gpu r9 270x

Now i have overclocked it to 4.2 without touching anything but the multiplier. The current temps r all between 24c-28c at idle and stress test max temps were 59c-63c. Im just wondering if i should push for more and if so what should i adjust. First time overclocker and generally new to pc's as this is my second build.

PS: The only thing i do is watch movies and play games... and durring games the temps get to 43c-57c

TY i have that guide saved as a fav already. This is more just wondering thoughts if i should go more or not. And some friends keep tellin me i shouldnt push it cause it'll cut the life of the cpu and it wont last more than a yr at the settings i have now. So i bring it here cause i have gotten a good amount of info from this community and im hoping my friend is wrong in the cpu lasting a yr lol

The chip will definitely last a year, much more. I'm surprised you didn't need any extra voltages. Did you run IBT or Prime95 to check for stability?

Many people choose to run Prime95 overnight to test for full stability. If its stable, you must have a good chip to run that without voltage increase

Ya, to ensure full stability. Your temps are low so running overnight is fine. Heck, i ran my chip at 90 C for 4 days straight tuning voltages
