Hello,

I went ahead and ordered my build.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/30dkb

With regards to the case, I bought a couple extra 140mm fans to go with the two already in the fractal Design R5, I'm going to take out the large bridge (midsection) HD bays for better air flow.

I'm wondering what a good after market cooler for the 4770k would be compatible with the ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer. The Fractal case is pretty wide, I'm using an Antec now with my older computer and it fits a rather large cooler so I'm hoping I can put a nice cooler with this build. My older computer was given to me by a friend, it wasn't built by me.

Any recommendations? I've heard the Evo 212 is a good cheap alternative, the Noctura's seem really nice but I would have no idea which one to get and I don't really think they look attractive but I could really care less about looks if the cooler is nice.

In the end I need something that would really help cool the 4770k that will fit the Fatal1ty Z87 Killer and handle being sandwiched in between the 2x 8 GB mods of Ram and the Asus GTX 780. It may be a tight fit but the case has good width so perhaps something that is more slim and taller. The motherboard also seems like it has less width but yet equal if not more length than other motherboards.

****Originally I didn't think I was going to be doing OC, but figured down the road I may. My last two computers I have done minor tweaking and OC. Figured if there was a remote possiblity of OC, then I should go with the K series even though many people consider it a so called "cripped" chip.

Thanks,

-Mal

If it fits the board, it fits everything. So its a good to go on the 1150 (they are the same mounts)

As for the cooler itself that is Noctuas top of the line cooler, and one of the best air coolers on the market. Just be sure to get low profile ram.

Excellent even though it's more on the expensive side I'll probably go with the Noctua nh-d14. Will still glimpse over the H12 and a couple others, perhaps check out some youtube videos on them also.

Thanks guys,
