This is a very good budget case which support many fan placements, unfortunately, the front panel has a design flaw that keep irritating me. Noise. I'm using the default 120mm front intake fan which produce louder noise when front panel is installed. Inside the front panel, there are small grills on the side of the inner part where the air sucked in inside. Picture link
These grills are the problem, either they are too narrow or badly designed,, air went inside produce noise. I detach the front panel for testing sake and it is true, the noise is significantly reduced. The problem is confirmed located on these grills. I tried swapping the fan on the upper slot, still the same.
Anyone has ideas for modding the grills ? Cutting it would be permanent so I think I should ask first. Or is there any other solution related to modding this case to achieve quieter noise ? I need both fans on front intake to cool a lot of HDD in my nas box (most of it are 4TB drives, which are very thick in height, so slower fans/quiet fans are not an option as the machine will run 24/7).
Thanks
