I know this has been posted a number of times on this website and I'm just trying to find a straight forward response from a number of people if possible to try to weigh my options. I'm in the market of buying a gaming headset that can both work on PC and Xbox 360 if possible. Wireless or wired, I'd like you to explain the pros and cons. Wireless seems right up my alley as it's convenient to be able to not have to worry about wires or anything, and still be able to just plug and play if it starts to die. A neat holder/desktop mount isn't a bad thing either. Surround sound 7.1 and what not, well i dont know enough about all this stuff to know if it's worth it. That's what I need you for!
I'd like my headset to follow these rules, however it doesn't have to follow them all if there's a good enough reason.
-Around $100 or so
-Wireless (only if the battery seems to last a while/ works well)
-Sturdy design and build quality that won't break on me after a month of general use as I take care of ally things very well
-Compatible use with my xbox since I do console gaming as well
-Able to have gaming quality setup so I can hear footsteps and that sort of thing
-Decent enough mic for communications like Skype, etc
-Retractable or foldaway mic is a must since putting it around my neck and having it poke me in the nose is not an option
-Anything else that people find useful/handy or anything of that sort.
I'm relatively clueless when it comes to gaming headsets and if someone can explain pros and cons to everything I've stated above, a million camels shall be sent to your home with my best blessings and finest greetings
