Hi Guys,
I have recently got a XFX HD 7870 as my 5 year old XFX 8800GT collapsed recently. Power Supply is a Cooler Master 500 W with a single 6 pin connector. To my surprise I found that it needs an 8 pin connector as well.How ever the manual diagrams shows to connect either 2 x 6 pins or 2x8 pin connectors but not a combination with 1x 6 pin and 1x8 pin Please help me how do i connect ? Molex adapter is a solution ? and is it possible too get a molex to 8 pin connector ?
To confirm I dont have a 6+2 pci e cable with my SMPS.
