Hi again this is in response to my other thread before 80c at Idle.

I had a look through all the parts and stuff i had boxed away for when i need to replace something, i found the fan my CPU came with, at first i thought it was a dud for its 2-3 spin attempts on start up but its mount clips are 100% perfect and undamaged. I recorded this with my iPod to check with the people here to see if its normal or unusual behavior for this fan.

Fan on Start Up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kk3LOs2Tso

The fan hasn't stopped since being on ~2 hours :)  and the temperature is at anywhere between 35 and 40c on idle and 35-48 under load (world of warcraft on ultra)

My temperature before was 80c on idle at the desktop and now at the same place with the new fan and thermal paste its sitting on 34-38c, is this acceptable for an Intel stock cooler (H100i will be ordered next week) this is temporary and will be replaced asap.

Here are the HWMoniter readings from before and after;

Before with previous fan and paste
After with other fan and new application of paste

Thanks for your time :)

Good to hear bud! Glad everything worked out, down the road make sure to keep it clean of dust and such, also, down the road consider a better cooler like the Hyper 212 EVO, H100i, or Kraken X60, etc.

Yeh i will be getting a H100i next fortnight to lower the heat even more :)  I already clean my pc around every two weeks, thanks again for the help and recommendations for the coolers.

p.s the 2 fail spins on start up is that all good?

You know, I haven't ever seen that happen, has it always done that with both heat sinks?

It does it with both sinks, the fan that came with the CPU is the only one that does the two spins on start up but then stays on for the whole time. I just find it unusual but it will only be used for two weeks until the new one arrives, so I'll be watching it like a hawk just it case it stops but so far it hasn't (3 Hours). Other than that small issue everything seems to be running fine at 40c when under wow load.

Maybe that's just how that fan is then, when you get the new fans/rads let me know what they do.

Yeh i guess so, it seems fine. I will let you know when i've got the h100i installed which could be 1-3 weeks, PC should be fine until then with this heat sink. If it goes pear shaped you can guarantee i'll come back here yelling out for help, will let you know anyway to clarify that it is all nice and cool in there as your just a big help to me.

Thanks mate your a legend, cya in a few. :)
