Hey guys, I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 1.5GB. When I play games such as minecraft and battlefield 4, I get epic frame drops pretty frequently. For example, in Battlefield 4 I have my video settings set to high, I tend to get around 60-80 frames, but then the frames epicly drop down to around 20-40 frames, then it goes back up, or sometimes it just stays around there and from time to time, it will just go back up and keep dropping. In Minecraft, I get around 60-70 frames and about every 40 or so seconds it drops down to under 10 frames then goes back up pretty quickly, and there is about a 10-20 second lag when it drops and then it goes back up. I have my graphics card running t 1124MHz graphics clock and 3000MHz memory clock. Anyone know what could be causing these epic frame drops? Thanks

What are your full system specs and are you monitoring GPU and CPU temps?

My PC specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 @ 3.60GHz
MB: Sabertooth X79
Ram: 8.00GB DDR3 @ 667MHz (9-9-9-24)
GPU: 1535MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 @ 1124MHz
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
HDD: 931GB Western Digital WDC

My cpu doesn't really go over 50 degrees celcius, it stays at around 38 degrees when on idle, my gpu goes to around 55 degrees when playing Battlefield 4, so it doesn't really get that hot.

You should go wipe any drivers and reinstall them, bad Drivers can easily cause problems.

Not a temp problem then, make sure all your drivers are up to date.
