Hey everyone,
I am still on the search for my new monitor. I have tried like 4 different IPS monitors and, to be frank, really haven't fallen in love...with the exception of the Acer H23HL bid. However, that proved to be too "glossy" for me. Not that I didn't like the glossy screen, I did. I just could not control the lighting in the room, so the reflections were really bad.
Anyhow, I am looking at two pretty different monitors. One is an IPS and one is a TN panel. Here they are:
ASUS PB238Q
ASUS VG248QE 144Hz
I will be mostly using the monitor for gaming and movies. I do some web development work (photoshop/illustrator/dreamweaver/coding/logo design/photo editing/some print), so that will have to be factored in there, too. How much of a difference would the TN panel be? My main concerns are washed out colors, gradient banding, backlight bleed and viewing angles. And, the refresh rate. Is that really a farce/gimmick, or does it really help out the smoothness in games?
Thank you in advance for your response, help, advice and suggestions.
