E5500 CPU overclocking

I have a cm5671 asus upgraded to a 2tb hard drive and a 610 graphics card with a intel e5500 2.8ghz duel core cpu and im wondering i tried to overclock in the bios and it would not let me change the multipler or anything

well first of all, you need to set cpu ratio to manual if you havent already. second, there may be several other settings in there that need to be enabled. and third, do you have an unlocked cpu? if you do then you should just be able to raise the multiplier, and if not then you have to raise the HT ref. clock. hope this helps!

Unfortunately if THIS is your PC the BIOS is more than likely locked to prevent you from doing just that as most MFGs do with a prebuilt PC.

All you can do is update the allowable components as stated in the specs.
