Arma 3 with this processor?

Look, i heard that arma 3 is a realy cpu intensive game.
Cuz i couldn't run arma 2 aswell (25-30 fps) and thats unplayable on arma for me.
So i'm afraid i can't run it then
Or anything else i can do?

Here are my specs:
GPU: Nvidia Gtx 660
CPU: Intel Core i5 650 @3.2 Ghz
MOTHERBOARD: Asus sabertooth 55i
HDD: Western Digital 1TB

Yea, I would say that dual core i5 is holding you back.

I'm not actually sure your CPU will be the bottleneck for you in ArmA 3. If you look at these benchmarks, you'll notice the FX 4100 delivers just over 43 fps. Now what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Well it just so happens that the i5 650 and the FX-4100 perform almost identically in single-threaded/multi-threaded tasks, so I extrapolated that comparison onto these ArmA 3 benchmarks. Now, under the same circumstances, your GPU cannot deliver 40 fps. It's only capable of delivering 30 fps (under the same conditions).

Based on all the data I've seen, I predict you'll be able to get 35-40 frames, but no more (You'll have to fiddle with settings though). In fact, ArmA 2 is actually harder on CPUs than Arma 3 and easier on GPUs (See here and here)

Anyway, I might have done this completely wrong, but you should expect better performance.

Edit: I forgot to factor in screen resolution. What resolution do you play at?

3570k is definitely a nice upgrade from your current cpu. Keep in mind you will need a new motherboard as well.

Regardless, I do have one gripe about the resolution of this thread. Spend $10 more and get the 4670K and be SO happy that you did.
