I bought an amd fx-8350 with my new motherboard , asus m5a97 evo r2.0.. i didn't searched for stock temperatures or anything before , and i had like 30-35 (65 in gaming )degrees temp at the begining . I said , well its a stock cooler .. that should be good . Few days ago , i checked my temperatures and it just wont go lower then 40 degrees , even after i open the pc.. I didnt tried to overclock it nor modify any settings , but the default settings are not like other persons with fx-8350 . I might got a bad cpu ? should i go to warranty ? next week im going to get an aftermakert cooler , V8 gts or h100i , the look is important to me. Here is a screenshot of my ASUS AI SUite . Thank you very much .

when i got this photo , i just opened the pc after all day off .. While booting it went to 36 , then up to 40-42.

I do not think you should absolutely rush to get a high end cooler unless you want a stable good oc and if your stock cooler load temps are acceptable in gaming. But with the OC potential of your chip, an aftermarket cooler is sometimes a good idea.

first of all, I didn't say that. second, I don't see any problems in hwmonitor at idle.

Hello,

I am myself using a newly bought FX-8350. After two days I bought a new cooler because the supplied cooler was very loud and still the computer became very warm. I bought a Noctua NH-U9B SE2 for 499 SEK (~50€).

Now my CPU temp is ~40-50*C in idle. And sound level around 17 db :)

Best regards, Fredrik.

I agree with this. This is a great CPU cooler that won't break the bank. This and some nice Arctic Silver thermal paste, would be awesome.
