When I try and change the voltage of the CPU in the BIOS nothing happens. When I boot up its still at the basic stock voltage. I am forced to use AMD Overdrive in order to overclock because the stock voltage is all the way down to 1.3125 on an FX-8350. I am starting to get issues with AMD Overdrive now that is causing the system to sometimes boot up unstable and causing all the clocks to reset. I assume this has to do with my motherboard (GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev. 5.0).

I went through an hour of prime95 and an hour of the built in stability test on AMD Overdrive. I can bring up the voltage to 1.3850 without having any throttling issues in AMD Overdrive, but I cant even change the voltage by 0.01 in the BIOS.

what happens when you try to increase the voltage in the bios? is that option locked, not there, or is it there and it lets you change it but when you leave and reenter its back to stock? make sure when you leave the bios you keep changes and exit. and what cpu are you using?

The option is there and I can change it freely, but when I boot up and check on the voltage its always still at the stock setting. I go back into the BIOS and its still at the spot where I changed it too so it is certainly saving.

CPU: FX-8350

Mobo: GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 5.0)

In the BIOS I can control the multiplier just fine but I still use overdrive for obvious reasons. Everythings unlocked in AMD Overdrive and the BIOS its just the BIOS change doesn't affect voltage. I brought the multiplier up to 22.5 in AMD Overdrive and it was stable in prime 95, but sometimes when I start up the system is unstable.

if it is sometimes unstable on startup, then try lowerind the multiplier down to about 21.5. if an overclock is only sometimes stable, it is unstable as is. also google and look around for advice in overclocking the fx 8350 because ive never owned one. you may have to play around with the voltage a little too.

I cant overclock at all using the stock voltage. The only way it will even make it to 21.5 is to bring the voltage up to 1.325
