I almost have my current pc build completed and I noticed that the approximate wattage is 253. But within 2 to 3 years I want to buy some more things to add and that the approximate wattage is 493. So I was wondering if I should just get a power supply that can handle 493 so I wont have to upgrade it when im adding in other parts down the road? or should I just wait till I decide that I will be adding the other parts than upgrade the supply unit also? One last question, if I do go with the more wattage power supply now will that create type of bottle neck basically?

Power supplies do not cause a bottleneck; however they could provide insufficient power if you're stacking on power hungry components and stick with a less than ideal PSU.

Your current system specs and future specs would help greatly.

I actually forgot to add in one part on my first post so this future post is going to have more watts.
