I am giving my old computer away and bought "Drive Erase Professional". I erased he drive but now can not install Windows XP. The BIOS recognizes the drive. What should I do to install my copy of Windows XP.

You have to Initialize and format the hard drive. You can do it from;
1. Another computer with Windows, connected internally or from USB adapter. Through the Disk Manager (Right click on My Computer / Manage / Disk Manager)
2. Or on the old computer from
a) a Bootable Partition Manager on Bootable/Live CD or
b) from the Hiren's Boot CD.

The Live CD can be created with an installed Partition Manager and some can be downloaded in ISO ready to burn on CD.

Right, that would be obvious but apparently the XP Installer doesn't see the hard drive... at least that's what I understand when OP says: Quote: "I erased he drive but now can not install Windows XP"... and goes on to say the BIOS recognizes it... in my understanding that means the CD installer doesn't.
