Looking for a new GPU

I have an old system with
AMD Phenom X3 8650 3-Core 2.4Ghz processor
9600GT 512MB
4GB DDR2 RAM
20" monitor with 1600x900 res

So far Assassin's Creed Black Flag is unplayable on the current machine with 15 fps. Will adding a Radeon HD 7770 help? I know that the processor is very weak and it will bottleneck the GPU all the time. But if its playable at medium settings 900p, I'm will get it. Please don't suggest processor upgrades, as it will require the entire rig to be upgraded, which I am not interested in.

I suggest you upgrade your CPU before anything... any graphics card capable of running black flag at a playable framrate will need at least a quad core cpu with 3.0Ghz or better.. I got the GTX 750 works better than my GT 520...

The R7 260 is somehow nowhere available online in Indian stores. I'll take a look at the shops. Will I get playable fps with the processor bottlenecks?
Edit : PSU is 500W

its a zebronics gold 500W. 5yrs old. I bought it for 2000 INR ($40 when i bought it).

The PSU would never be an issue. 500W is enough for my rig. I checked it on multiple "Power Supply Requirements" Calculator websites. I got a 7750 for a pretty sweet deal. The 7770 was out of stock everywhere. R7 260 was way over my budget. I tried NFS Rivals, and Black Flag on the new GPU. Thanks to the weak processor, I cannot get reasonable framerates all the time on High settings. But Low (in NFS Rivals) and Medium (on Black Flag) was good enough. I can stay with that as I am just a casual gamer. Thanks for the help. I would like to mark this post as "Solved".

The problem is just in its quality (mine burned because it was like this one 500W and running a GT640)

I got the GTX 750 works better than my GT 520 BUT my AMD A8 5600k Quad Core is STILL lacking for performance.. also You need more ram.

no problem.. Im js if Im having performance issues even with a better CPU .. then I dont think your gonna get what your looking for just by upgrading your GPU. Also lower your res for better framrates.. I use 1152x864
