Temperature peaks when waking from sleep

I have no idea why, but my computer is completely stable (sabertooth asus x79 with i7-3930k and corsair h100i cooling) running at 4.6GHz. at idle, my temperature is around 35C. However, if I put my computer to sleep and wake it up, the temperature instantly spikes to 91C (my Tj Max is set to 91). It's not a gradual increase, it's instant. My computer is certainly not running hot, it's blowing cool air, so I have to assume these numbers are incorrect. Corsair Link also showed 91C. Is it possible to have a bad sensor that only is triggered on waking from sleep?

Sounds very much like a faulty sensor. When you wake your computer from sleep, it does kick all your components into gear, but to shoot from 35° C idle to 91° instantly is unheard of unless you're running some insane overclock and even then it's rare.

How long does it take for the 91° reading to fall back in line with your idle readings?

It never goes back to an idle reading.......it stays at 91 indefinitely. I've updated my BIOS recently, perhaps that's an issue.

I HAVE confirmed that the ASUS thermal radar registers my standard idle temps (30-32 degrees), even while coretemp is registering 91. So I'm confident that it's most likely a bug now, and not a sensor issue.....
