I just recently installed a new gpu into my new computer. I was using a friend's Radeon 7850 until my R9 270x shipped. After uninstalling old drivers and installing the new drivers, my computer monitor will black out while playing games (i.e. Hearthstone, Skyrim, sometimes even on Twitch). The black screen usually appears within the first minute of game startup, and the video never recovers, forcing me to manually restart my computer.
Things I have tried:
Unistall/Reinstall Drivers
Check power and temp of Gpu
Event viewer does not display anything other than error for manual shutdown
Checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly to the motherboard
Sorry for the wall, but just a couple more things that might help. When the monitor goes black, it seems that only the gpu shuts off. The rest of the computer continues (i.e. sound, internal fans ect) but the video card fans shut off.
Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate
Intel Core i5-4670
AMD Radeon R9 270x
MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate Motherboard
CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W Power Supply
Corsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB (2X4 GB)
128GB SSD
Any help would be greatly appreciated
