CPU Temps on AMD Athlon 750k

Okay so, i made this build about a week ago.

CPU: AMD Athlon 750k stock heatsink
Motherboard; MSI a75ma-e35 fm2 socket
GPU: MSI Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition
PSU: Corsair CX430w
Case : Rosewill Galaxy-03 Case with 4 fans installed
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB

Now, I installed everything correctly and took the proper precautions building this. This build i specifically made for my brother who plays games like WoW, LoL etc. In the Bios it's saying that the temperature is 37c. On every single cpu temp monitor i can find it says while browsing 48-60c. While running tribes ascend my cpu jumps to 80c yet i get solid framerate and no throttling. Also, the graphics card isn't even on full load. It's running at 46c. Is my cpu temp sensor messed up? The heatsink doesn't even feel hot. It's only warm and it's 60 Fahrenheit in my room.

I have the same CPU and the same motherboard. What software do you use? What software shows those temperatures?. The temperature of 37 showed by BIOS is normal for the stock heatsink and stock frequency. I had aprox. the same temperatures in HWMonitor when i had the stock cooler. Now i have an aftermarket heatsink (air) with a good thermal compound applied and it still shows me 70-75c max overclocked @ 3700MHz (i saw it 79c once but i found out that the software jumps a few degrees up from time to time),. so those temperature you read on yours are just normal and safe. I used mine with the stock heatsink for 1 year, boosted @ 3700Mhz and it survived. Use Aida64 to see the CPU temperature, it will show the same BIOS shows, maybe you won't be stressed by seeing
those high temps you are seeing now. I'm guessing that 95c showed now with prime95 is under 60c in BIOS :)

That 95c it's just calculated based on the temp read from BIOS and it's not accurate. It showed around 90c on mine too when i still used the stock heatsink. That's why i asked him what software shows him those temperatures. I've tried them all as well.

The BIOS can't but sensors can be accessed from Windows. Here are mine with prime95 and i'm using an aftermarket heatsink and the thermal compound is properly applied. So, as shown in the picture, 44c is the temp that BIOS reads (Aida64 and TMPIN0 in HWMonitor) and other readings show me about 70c.

lel i am using HWmonitor. So basically use aid64? Gunna try it right now and take a SS of the difference thanks for the replies. Also, i used stock thermal pad that was preapplied by amd.

http://postimg.org/image/t9n64d8tp/31b27818/ 23c? This is idle temp in which i reside in Connecticut which it's around 5 degrees out therefore, idle temp is not bad. What scares me is when i run games it goes crazy high! I tryed playing tribes ascend and was getting 80c.... these temps were monitored with HWmonitor. Why is aid64 showing 23c?

I havn't took it off yet. The PC was build on saturday... it's only thursday. I figured it either was the program i was using to monitor temp or it was bad thermal paste. now after checking Aid64 i think it's HWmonitor that is having trouble picking up temps. Gunna run prime95 and post the temps from each program

The idle temp is close to the air temperature inside the case which i can see it's around 20c so that's why it's just 23c in idle. Also, in idle, if you left the power plan in Windows at default (balanced), the CPU runs only at minimum 5% of it's frequency and just boosting it when needed (when you open an application for example) that's why it doesn't get hot. Yes, run prime95 and let us see the temps showed by both Aida64 and HWMonitor. I'm honestly telling you, you don't have to worry. For me, an Athlon 750k user since december 2012, those temps are the normal for this CPU with the stock heatsink and stock thermal compound. I changed the thermal compound on my stock heatsink with a very good one and HWMonitor still showed me around 90c. I will put my stock heatsink for some tests if you still won't be convinced that how it is right now it's ok :).

Yes, that's in order :). Your case ventilation is very good and the temperature in it is quite low so the cooler blows nice cool air over the heatsink and properly cools the CPU. You will notice slightly higher temperatures when playing games because prime95 doesn't stress the CPU like a game does, it just loads it and not even keep it at full frequency. Mine were 44c and ~70c when i used prime95 but they are about 3-4c higher when playing games. So my temps are close to yours even that i have a better heatsink but the temperature in my case is around 40c because it's a miniATX case with only a back fan which i put on exhaust and it's crowded with all the components.

Yeah i have very good cable management! Everything is routed properly even with the non modular psu. 4 fans in total 2 exhaust 2 intake. Quick question as well, is it better to blow cold air onto gpu or exhaust air from it?
