Hello, I've been using my computer for a while now and I was downloading games, then I ran into an issue saying my primary boot (Samsung SSD 840 Pro) was almost full and needed to either get items deleted or to get a second hard drive. I thought I set my Windows to download apps to my secondary HDD (WD 1tb blue caviar) and the SSD for the OS. Help please!!!

Solution

Can you see it in the BIOS? If yes...
Can you see it in Disk Management?
You may need to initialize it and give it a drive letter.

I have no issues with 8.1 and multiple drives.

Windows 8.1 does not recognize my HDD but it recognizes my SSD which is my main one. Is it a problem with windows 8.1? Or my Bios?

I'm having the same problem. I just build a new computer and went with Win 8.1 Pro. I have a PNY SSD and a Toshiba HDD. Windows see's and runs the SSD just fine, but I can't see the Toshiba HDD in disk management or anywhere else for that matter. I do see the HDD in device manager, but I can't initialize it or format it. Someone PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks in advance. :)

Sometimes, installing Windows 8 (8.1) loses the hard drive’s letter/path. This can occur because of the newly added drivers, or during the complex process of creating partitions. To fix this, here is what you should do:
