i have 2 cable outlets, should I use one for cable and internet or one each?

I have 2 cable outlets in my building. I am wondering if I should utilize one for cable and one for the internet, or if I should just use one outlet and then use a splitter to connect both the tv and internet?

It's likely best to use one for internet and one for cable. Usually because splitters cause degradation of quality and whatnot.
