Quad Monitor Setup, HD 7770 (3 Displays) Motherboard (1 Display)

Hello!

I own an ATI HD 7770 DC, also I already own 2 monitors (1920x1200, 1600x1200). I'd like to add another two monitors to my pc.

So, this is the array I want to create:

Monitor (1920x1200) : HD 7770 DisplayPort, Landscape
Monitor (1920x1200) : HD 7770 DVI, Portrait
Monitor (1920x1200) : HD 7770 DVI, Portrait
Monitor (1600x1200) : Motherboard HDMI, Landscape

My Motherboard is an ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z.

Is this setup possible?

I don't want to run a game on multiple monitors, so I don't know if Eyefinity is required.

Feel free to ask any other detail.

Its not possible, a three display can be achieved through your GPU(possibly more depending on video out ports on your card), but you cannot simultaneously use a video out from your motherboard along with a discrete graphics card.

I stand corrected. Would it be more efficient/beneficial to run all four from the GPU? Im pretty sure that most mid-high end AMD GPUS support up to 6 displays.

There isn't really any advantage or disadvantage other than power usage and drivers. Intel igpus use a negligible amount of power. Mine runs at .4w-.8w most of the time (2500k w/ hd 3000) and that amounts to less than $1 per year. It is simpler to run a single gpu and have to deal with only a single gpu driver but to run 4+ monitors on his card, he'd need a dp splitter and that can get quite expensive. A quick google and the cheapest I saw was $50 with 2 ports so it's just cheaper to use the igpu.

Hi!

I liked your answer, however, I don't want to move bios settings. I'm not very good with those parameters, so I prefer to avoid an accident.

Also, that kind of configuration is something I want to avoid. I think that, in time, replacing the GPU with another that support +4 displays is the best option.

Keep it simple.
