i currently own the A10-6800k the A10-7850 is the highest i can go on my mobo and i am going to overclock my current one to its max witch i think is 4.44 i want ot upgrade to 7850k is it worth it or should i keep my current one
That's the same exact motherboard with my 6800k. I use a Cooler Master TX3 cooler, and I can very easily get 4.7ghz with just a multiplier bump.
NO WAY well all the help i can get would be awesome this is my second build first time overclocking manually with no software since using software screws it up
Yes do not use software to overclock. Turn off turbo, and all of the other energy saving features in BIOS. Set the multi to 45 or 46 and test it out. If it's stable, bump it up 1 and try again. Repeat until it's not stable. Then you could bump the voltage one increment and try again. Always keep an eye on temps.
I have not tried to overclock past 4.7, but the 6800k can usually hit 5.0ghz on a good board with good cooling. We have a good board. The 212 Evo is a pretty good cooler.
