Just built my first computer. all the fans work power comes on. everything plugged in video cards and ram clicked in, tried multiple monitors and cables. does anyone have any input?

I have a evga 770 GTX over clock, i5 5670k, 2x4gb sticks of ballistic sports ram, 1tb hard drive and samsung 125 ssd, asus drive bay. and a 650 watt evga gold powersupply.

Solution
Use the motherboards video outputs first then install the GTX 770 drivers and then you will be able to see a display.

Plug video cable into mobo
Boot up
Install GTX 770 drivers
Power off
Plug video cable into GTX 770
Power on

Yeah the small wires are right. When installing the drivers should I leave the video card out then try to install the drivers if the screen even comes up? I've tried vga dvi and hdmi. in both the mother board and video card slots

When in doubt, test the components individually - I would probably put a single stick of RAM in, pull the video card and see if it will display using the onboard video. If that works, check the BIOS settings and confirm you don't have it set to use the onboard over the discrete GPU.
