ram compatibility upgrade for my laptop

Hi there guys just want to ask what is the best ram upgrade for my laptop, what frequency should i pick.?

this is the specs of my laptop

INTEL CORE I5 46OM 2.53 GHZ
500 gb 5400 rpm hdd
intel hd graphics / geforce 310m 1 gb ddr3 optimus
4gb ddr3 1066mhz
by the way the motherboard chipset is HM55 MOBILE

what some advice what is the best ram frequency , should i get... because i want to buy new stick 8gb and new ssd.

I would just get a regular 8GB 1600 Mhz and a Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB

SSDs are fast enough that you won't be able to notice the difference.
Mind if I ask why you would want to upgrade the RAM? In my own personal experience that a laptop RAM costs just as much as desktop RAM, so if possible I think it's better to save it if laptop is your secondary PC. In addition, improvements will only show if you were maxing it out.

im using my laptop for video editting and photo editting.. but 4 gb ram cant accommodate the applications.. and also my hard drive is slow... so i need to upgrade this
