New build, super frustrated.

So I built a new PC, and haven't been able to get it to even post.

This is driving me insane, I dropped 1600$ on my first desktop and it won't even go to bios.
MSI Z87- gd65 Gaming
i7 4770k
Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB OC edition
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 2x4 8GB Ram @ 1866
EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

I've tried everything imaginable, tried every RAM slot, everything.

I was getting the post error code on my MOBO "55" but I switched bios's and it went away but nothing has changed.

I've reset the cmos multiple times and nothing.

If someone could save me from this insane frustration I will love for you all of eternity.

I've tried that previously, but I'll attempt it again!

Read motherboard manual. Especially the page where it shows all the things that can be connected to it. Like 24-pin connector, Cpu-fan, 4/8pin connector etc.
Are those plugged in? Try reseating them to make sure, dont just look at them.
Insert GPU again and connect the power cable to it, 6 pin.
Reseat RAM. I think on Intels the order is reversed compared to AMD. So check motherboard manual for which slot needs to be filled with 1 stick of RAM.

Googling some, this turned up.

"This is a fairly old thread, over a year, but the answer is yes, bent pins in the CPU socket definately will cause this error 55. It can also be caused by RAM that is faulty, problem with a DIMM slot, or other problems such as uneven mounting of the CPU cooler, or extra standoffs underneath the mainboard."

Or faulty motherboard.

They also do suggest that RAM in slot 1+2 wont work.

I'll explain from the start!
Picked up all the parts, and put it all together!

Everything lights up properly, it sounds as if it's booting up properly everything is doing it's thing, all the fans are spinning but there's absolutely no video on screen!

I've tried every possible configuration of every part and every connection, I spent a good few days trying to figure it out, and to no avail!

Put it in my closet for a week and was going to just go pick up another mobo and RMA this one, but tonight I decided to take another crack at it and when it booted up I got the post error code "55" the mobo itself has a bios switch so I powered off, reset the cmos and switched bios and everything spun up it showed the "55" and then turned off itself, and booted again with no post error code.

but still failed to boot into post, no bios nothing.
I powered down, switched back to the original bios, and have just been tinkering trying different ram slots/ reseating the cpu and heatsink etc, as well as everything suggested in this thread to no avail.

the only thing that has changed within this whole process is I'm not getting the 55 code anymore, there's no code at all!

hope this helps!
I'm gonna try to save up some cash and grab a new mobo but I'm pretty wiped out, dropped 1600$ on a gaming pc I thought would be pretty top notch, and I haven't even been able to turn it on, I'm low on cash right now and RMA'ing the mobo will take a month or two, hopefully I'm just missing something stupid here or there's a solution.

Debug Code 55: Early Memory Initialization,

So it is probably either you bent some cpu pins on the motherboard or a defective RAM.

Check the pins first very closely and carefull with a magnifier. If there are bent pins, then you can fix it easily with a needle-magnifier-enough light on the spot. There are lots of guides on youtube.

If it's not the bent pins...

Then try to borrow a different memory from a friend or someone.

Sorry for the late reply guys, I got super frustrated and gave up completely.
I ended up going and buying a completely brand new motherboard and I'm still getting the same post error "55" for No installed memory and on the other one it was early memory initialization.

I've tried every possible configuration of both sticks or just one stick possible, made sure they were in tight.

I even tried a friends RAM and I'm getting the same error, I've tried re-seating the CPU and checked for bent pins.

RMA shouldn't take months. A week tops. Cause you send it back to the store and get a new one, if the board is faulty.

2 motherborads doing the same thing...you could be extremely unlucky (both mobos broke on arrival) or its something else.

" Put RAM in slot 3 or two sticks in 3 and 4 and it boots (not tested into windows, got no HDD connected, but it goes to BIOS fine). Any 2 sticks in slots 3 and 4 works so it can't be their fault I guess.

Put any sticks into slots 1 and 2 and it doesn't work, I get the '55' error."

Did you try that? Only using slot 3 and 4.

Also, did you screw on the CPU cooler super-tight? Don't.

Hey, if u didnt RMA the thing back yet i have 1 more idea, when i 1st built mine i didnt realize the video card also needed to have the psu plug in it, and when i booted up it didnt work i got no screen, after i plugged in the psu connector into the video card i got video, note the fans on the graphics card where spinning, and i still needed the power connector cord form the psu into the graphics card to be in to get video, try this if u had not already....

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
