Radeon and Geforce together?

Hi all,

I've read a few threads about this but none of them seem to give a satisfactory answer. I have a GT 640 that I would like to be replacing as my primary GPU, however I would still like to do F@H on it without it being hooked up to video output. Say I bought a R9 270 or R7 265; could I have Catalyst and Geforce drivers in my system or would they be at each others' throats?

Z77 Extreme3 is my board and 3770 non-K is my cpu. Both cards would be running in 3.0 x8 mode, as the extreme3 has 2x3.0 x16 slots

For install two graphics drivers. you need first install nvidia driver before the amd driver. Nvidia block the the installation when see amd card plugged on system if i remember. the 185.xx driver can run both cards and work phsyx ;)

You need the drive sweeper to remove all the drivers to try the new installation.

That's nice to hear, but it sort of defeats the purpose of having two cards in my rig if I can't let the 640 do F@H and game on the other card without having any problems.

People are telling me I'd need one of those old MSI Fuzion mobos, but I'm not sure. The reason I'm looking at the R9 270/265 is because the Geforce mid-range lineup is trash at the moment; no amount of drivers will cover up the 660's age, the 760 is still ridiculously expensive, the 750 Ti is trash at pretty much everything (no one will buy it because of its efficiency, that's for sure) and also bumped up the price of the 660. Not to mention that Nvidia has nowhere to go to replace the 660...what can they do? Come in with a 750 Ti Boost? 760 SE?
